    Description

Set of 6 The Matson Murals by Eugene Savage, 1948-1956. 14” x 21” Lithograph Prints.
“Pomp and Circumstance”, “Aloha...Universal Word”, “Festival of the Sea”, “Hawaii's Decisive Hour”, “A God Appears”, “Island Feast”.
Eugene Savage was commissioned in 1938 to make "The Matson Murals" for the Matson Navigation Company. He completed the works in 1940, but they were never installed in the company's ships, which had been converted to troopships for WWII. In 1948, lithographs based on these murals were used as menu covers on Matson's flagship, SS Lurline.
These lithographs are originals. They each have a title and story on the back side of them. There are no center creases like the completed menus have. There are some discoloration issues due to age. Some minor creasing and bent corners. No holes or tears. Please review pictures carefully for condition.
