Description

The Rathburn Ring Stretcher can quickly enlarge rings. It is an easy to use yet economical tool. A simple tap on the end of the tool using a rawhide mallet, spreads the eight splines of the ring stretcher and enlarges your ring. This works particularly well for rings size 8.5 or larger.
Please note that this is not recommended for use on stone-set rings.
Overall length measures 6-1/2".
***** INSTRUCTIONS*****
1. Remove the metal peg from the ring stretcher - you may need a hammer to get it out.
2. Place the ring you are trying to stretch on the stretcher, and put the stretcher on the nylon base.
3. Place the peg into the stretcher, and hit the top of the peg a few times with a heavy mallet (at least 2 lb mallet for best results)
4. Remove the peg (again, you may need to hammer it out the other way, it could be stuck) and flip the ring over. Repeat steps 2 and 3. Flipping the ring helps stretch it evenly.
Please note - ring stretching of any sort is not recommended for any ring that needs to be stretched more than 1 size. Some rings with weak solder joints, and some cast rings (casting causes metal to be more porous) can break when stretched. Rings with stone settings are also not advisable to be stretched this way. Stones can come loose or crack under pressure when rings are resized in certain ways.
