Large Fluorescent Sphalerite, Franklin, NJ #23 - Pink, Blue & Orange LW

Description

A large sphalerite specimen with willemite and franklinite.. The sphalerite is fluorescent under both shortwave and longwave UV. The sphalerite fluoresces pink blue and orange under longwave UV (photos 1,2 & 3) The sphalerite has an unusual magenta response under shortwave(photos 4 & 5). Also present is a small amount of willemite which fluoresces green. The black mineral is franklinite, which is non-fluorescent. Collected in Franklin, NJ. Size: 4" x 3" x 2". Weight is 1 lb. 4 oz.  or 580 grams.
