    Description

    Fluoborite fluorescent mineral, Bodnar Quarry, near Franklin NJ.  Hand-sized specimen of franklin marble, with a rich face of blebs of fluoborite, plus graphite throughout.  Fluoresces cream white in short wave UV light.  Note: the dark blue of the background marble under UV is just reflected light.


    Typical specimen from the Bodnar Quarry, Rudeville, New Jersey.


    Cabinet specimen, measures 6 1/2 inches x 3 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches, and weighs 2 pounds 10 ounces.
