This is a high quality glossy lithograph printed on thick paper with U.V. coating from the original,
cropped, and mounted on a single  8x10 inch backing board
with caption and photography information on the back of military B-18 bombers over Waikiki, late1930's(?), and is shrink wrapped to protect it from damage and has preservation tips and Hawaii's aviation history included in the label on the back. This photo was produced by the 18th Army Air Force squadron based at Wheeler Air Base (
not by us
) in their darkroom and it was suggested that this was a propaganda or trick photo by combining two sandwiched negatives and printed to produce the image. It was also on a military officer's club Christmas party invitation from the same period. It also looks a little sharper than the sample. More information is included in the caption.

This photo is printed on glossy  surface paper and the photo offered has more gray tones, deep, richer blacks, less contrast, and has a different tonal range and brightness than you may see on your individual computer screen. Please be aware of this. We do however try to crop and correct them so they look best. It is printed on 8x10 inch paper from a copy  negative and margins may be slightly trimmed. When it is attached to the single mat 8x10" backing board you will be able to see the black backing board around the borders of the print. It makes the print look like there is a thin margin around the edges of the photo, which you can see here.
Prints are permanently mounted to the acid free backing board using archival photo adhesive and cannot easily be removed from the backing board without damaging the photo. An 11x14 inch frame (or larger) with a custom cut mat from a frame shop or art store is the suggested way to display this photo. If you want to use a larger frame and mat and you can't find an experienced framer who knows how to do it, contact us and we can provide information explaining how it can be done. This is recommended for best visual and artistic impact in displaying this photo, although many people are happy using a standard 8x10" frame and displaying the image as is.
